What makes this destination different: A Maurienne village ski break with a distinct alpine area and Nordic options nearby.

Aussois is its own alpine ski area in Haute Maurienne, rather than a piste entrance to Val Cenis. Compare lodging in the village with the journey to the snow front and the lesson meeting point. Check bus connections from Modane if arriving by train. Nordic skiing at Aussois–Sardières is a separate activity: confirm its access, grooming and ticket rather than assuming the alpine pass includes it.
